We’re excited to host the Scholastic Book Fair next week. Students will be able to shop Monday through Wednesday at school, as well as during Parent/Teacher Conferences. It’s the perfect time for families to explore and shop for great books together.
Conferences: Wednesday, Oct. 22 - 4:10-6:30 p.m. & Thursday, Oct. 23 - 7:30 a.m -1:30 p.m.

Estamos muy emocionados de organizar la Feria del Libro de Scholastic la próxima semana. Los estudiantes podrán comprar libros de lunes a miércoles en la escuela, así como durante las Conferencias de Padres y Maestros. Es el momento perfecto para que las familias exploren y compren excelentes libros juntos.

Remember Victor Ornelas picture day will be Thursday, October 30th. Picture packets will be handed out at Parent teacher conferences.

Remember Walk to School day is tomorrow:
Meeting locations will be Susan and Spruce or Jennie Barker and Spruce
Teachers will leave those locations at 8:00
Students can also join VO stars walking the track at 7:45

Join Victor Ornelas on Wednesday for "Walk to School" day. Students/Families will meet teachers to walk to school. Locations will be posted Monday afternoon.

Victor Ornelas Elementary students do not have school on September 25th and 26th. Also, Engage afterschool program will only run Monday-Wednesday this week.

To receive teacher messages, student behavior celebrations and VO important announcements, please download the Garden City Public schools APP and click on "Rooms" at the bottom of APP. Follow the step-by-step directions. Our goal is for every family at VO to have this APP downloaded.

Victor Ornelas 3rd and 4th graders have an opportunity to participate in the GCHS homecoming parade on September 14th. Please talk to your child and see if they would like to participate with VO staff. Return permission slips by Wednesday, September 10th to the VO office

Victor Ornelas dismissal will be from the PE gym today. Please park and come into the gym to pick up your students. If you would like to pick up students from the office early please do so. We will stop calling students to the office at 3:45 and parents will wait for students in the gym.

September VO family newsletter

VO families we had a great first day. Tomorrow doors unlock at 7:45 and breakfast is served until 8:20. As you pick up children it is quicker to park in the Garcia Park parking lot or on Spruce and walk over to the VO front lawn. For SAFETY we ask all families to use the sidewalk outside the front of the school. DO NOT dart through traffic!!!

Don't forget Victor Ornelas open house on Monday night 5:00-6:30. We can't wait to see all of our VO families.

Simply send your gift card to school with your student and have them drop it off at the office. Your support truly means a lot!
