Today, Victor Ornelas Elementary participated in the statewide tornado drill. Our staff and students followed emergency procedures efficiently and effectively, ensuring that everyone is well-prepared in case of severe weather. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.

Victor Ornelas Elementary parents: We will NOT have Engage after school program today, Monday, January 20th.

Parents we would like to remind you that it is MUCH quicker to park across the street and walk over to pick up students after school.

The calendar committee for Garden City Public Schools is seeking input from parents regarding calendar options for the 2026-2027 school year. The survey consists of 6 questions and will take only a couple minutes. Survey is open through January 15th. Thank you!

As much as we would like to have students back in school, we do not feel that can be done safely due to forecasted extreme windchill temperatures. There will be NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, January 16th for Garden City Public Schools.

Santa isn’t ready to go back to school yet! Due to expected inclement weather conditions, all Garden City Public Schools facilities will be closed to the public on Monday, January 8th.
The Board of Education meeting will proceed as normal at 6pm and will be open to the public.
Staff members are not required to report to work, unless specifically instructed by their supervisor.
